Split Loyalties is a free fantasy-football game for the English league pyramid. This page says what we hold about you, why, who else sees it, and how to get rid of it. It is written to be read rather than to be comprehensive-sounding.
What we hold
- Your email address and display name. The address comes from however you signed in — Google, or the emailed sign-in link. The display name is the one you chose; it is shown to other players on leaderboards.
- Your profile picture URL, if Google gave us one. We store the link, not the image.
- What you do in the game — your squad, your Golden Picks, the chips you play, the leagues you are in, and the points and ranks worked out from them.
- Your email preferences, and whether your address has bounced or reported us as spam.
- Feedback you send us — the text, and a screenshot if you attach one.
- Technical error reports — the page you were on and the error itself, so faults can be found. These can carry whatever the error message happened to quote.
We do not ask for your real name, your address, your date of birth or any payment details. The game is free and there is nothing to pay for.
Why we hold it
To run the game you signed up to play — that is the whole of it for your account and your picks. Error reports and feedback are kept to keep the thing working. Where we use analytics (below), it is to understand which screens are used, not to profile anyone.
Who else sees it
- Vercel hosts the app and Supabase hosts the database.
- Resend sends the emails, so it processes your address and the contents of those emails.
- Google, if you sign in with it, tells us your email address, name and picture.
- PostHog receives usage analytics — which screens are used, and by how many people. Your display name is attached, so that your activity shows up under a readable profile rather than a random ID. Beyond that it is deliberately given event names and safe properties only — never your email address, never the text of your feedback. That is a rule the codebase enforces on itself, not an aspiration. Technical error reports also go to PostHog, and as above can carry whatever the error message happened to quote.
- Other players see your display name, your squad once a gameweek has locked, and your position in any league you share with them. They never see your email address.
We do not sell anything to anyone, and we do not run advertising.
How long we keep it
- Your account and your picks — for as long as you have an account.
- Feedback and error reports — 90 days, then automatically deleted, whether or not anyone has acted on them.
Deleting your account
You can do it yourself, without asking us: go to your account settings and use Delete my account. It removes your account, your squad, your Golden Picks, your chips, your league memberships, your rank history, your feedback, and the record of emails we sent you. Any error reports you triggered stop being connected to you. It happens immediately and it cannot be undone. We also ask PostHog to delete your analytics profile and its events at the same time; that removal happens on PostHog's side, normally within a day.
A league you created is not deleted if other people are still in it — it passes to whoever has been a member longest, so their season is not taken away with your account. A league nobody else is in goes with you.
One thing stays behind: if you were on the invite list from before signups opened, that entry — your email address, and nothing else — remains, so that you could sign up again later. Ask us and we will remove it.
Your other rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, object to how we use it, or ask us to delete it (or use the button above). If you think we have got it wrong you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
One cookie is essential: the sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in. Without it the game cannot know who you are. If analytics are switched on, PostHog sets its own cookies to count a visit as one visit. There is nothing here for advertising.
Changes
If this changes, the date at the top changes with it. Nothing here is retroactive — a change applies from the day it is published.
